Visiting French Polynesia? You have found my personal notes and travel tips, such as the best time to visit French Polynesia and miscellaneous facts which I obtain from a variety of sources such as first hand observations, personal conversations, magazines, newspapers, websites, books and so forth.
Best Time to Visit French Polynesia
Short Answer: May to October
Longer Answer: While some of French Polynesia is in the cyclone belt, Tahiti is not. However, while Tahiti isn’t hit by cyclones, it still receives storms in the December through March timeframe.
In general, for French Polynesia, head there in May or June for better prices and good weather or July to October for high season where there should be less bugs.
Miscellaneous Travel Tips for French Polynesia
While many automatically think Bora Bora is the place to go——it has been losing steam as people look for adventure and authenticity. Check out the Marquesas Islands. CNN has a listing of a bunch of island that you can research further.
