Tak's Travel Tips & When to VisitSenegal.....

Senegal is an African country known for its music, surfing, textiles and birding

Best Time to Visit Senegal

Short Answer: December through May

Longer Answer: The wet season runs from July to early October. Humidity spikes from mid-June to mid-November when the winds shift from north to west. As such, the best time to visit Senegal from a weather perspective is to go sometime between December and May when humidity and temperatures are much more comfortable. Tourist high season in Senegal runs more or less from December to March. If you go in April and May, the temperatures will be warmer.

The warmest water temperatures during the dry season are just after rainy season, so you’ll want to target mid-October, November and early December. By January and continuing to the wet season, average water temperatures will be around or below 70F/21C.

The best time for surfing in Senegal is November to March, although if you want the warmer waters, September and October should also treat you to consistent, albeit smaller, waves just as well.
