Cameroon is good for wildlife (hippos, giraffes, elephants), tribal culture, scenery. There has been some instability due to Boko Haram in the north and parts of the east. However, the western parts are typically where you’d head with limited time.
Best Time to Visit Cameroon
Short Answer: Mid-November through February
Longer Answer: Sometime in October or November the rains taper down. For the next four months or so you will have drier, cooler (relatively) air. In November or December the winds from the north start to blow which can cause a dusty haze through February or March. However, these winds are also the reason why the humidity and temperatures become relatively more bearable. March and April become very hot and by May the rainy season kicks into gear.
Southern Cameroon is wetter in comparison to the dry, hotter north. If you wanted to visit Cameroon in October, you could start up north where the rainy season typically phases out sometime in September.
